US rapper Jay-Z to headline 2027 Super Bowl half-time show
US rapper and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z will headline the 2027 NFL Super Bowl half-time show, it has been announced.
After weeks of speculation, the news was confirmed in a joint announcement by Roc Nation, the NFL and Apple Music ahead of the NFL’s Monday night game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
The 2027 Super Bowl will take place on February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement.
“Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
The rapper’s entertainment company Roc Nation has produced the Super Bowl half-time show since partnering with the NFL in 2019, with previous headliners including Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd and Bad Bunny.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said: “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
Roc Nation produced rapper Kendrick Lamar’s performance in 2025, which is the most watched Super Bowl half-time show in history and won the Emmy award for outstanding music direction.
Jay-Z, whose given name is Shawn Carter, has become one of hip-hop’s most decorated names since rising to fame with his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, was released in 1996.
His accolades include being the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, winning 25 Grammy awards and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
