Ryanair passenger numbers reach new high

Ryanair’s monthly passenger numbers reached an all-time high of more than 22 million in July.

The Dublin-based low-cost airline said it carried 22.2 million passengers last month. That represented a 7% increase on July 2025. It carried 213.2 million passengers in the 12 months to the end of July, which was a 5% rise year-on-year. Ryanair recently revealed quarterly profits slumped by more than a third as the price of jet fuel doubled because of the Iran war. The carrier reported a 34% drop in profits after tax to 538 million euro (£457 million) for the three months to the end of June. It said earnings were affected by surging jet fuel prices for the 20% of its fuel needs that was not locked in, as well as a 6% drop in average fares to boost demand.
