Murdered Celebrity Traitors contestant happy to leave: ‘I missed the kids’
Rob Beckett has said he was “happy” to be murdered on the Celebrity Traitors as he felt he had “done almost all of it”.
The 40-year-old comedian met his fate during Thursday’s episode of the BBC show when traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and Hannah Fry murdered him face to face.
Reflecting on his exit, Beckett said: “I’m a bit sad because I would have liked to have gone further.
“But a killing in plain sight, I’ve managed to get a Traitor, I’ve got a couple of faithfuls wrong at the banishments, I’ve done some missions, done the breakfast…
“I feel like I’ve done almost all of it.”
The father-of-two added: “I was really missing the kids, so I’m happy to go.
“The kids wanted me to do it, and I’ve done five episodes and been murdered. So that’s enough, let daddy have a day off.”
The TV personality was murdered during a deadly game of hide-and-seek involving fellow faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
“I thought they’re definitely not going to get rid of Ross because people suspect him, so they’d be mad to get rid of him – he’s going to be up for the chop at the roundtable,” he said.
“Then Leigh-Anne and Romesh were coming for Hannah, and obviously Hannah was a traitor.”
The players chose to give fellow faithful Pinnock a key that protected her from being murdered by the traitors.
On this, Beckett said: “I think I should have thought about it and gone, ‘give me the key’.”
However, he said he does not regret the decision, adding: “First of all, I’m a gentleman. I can’t do that.
“Secondly, I don’t want hate off the Mixers. I don’t need Little Mixers on my case because I left Leigh-Anne out in the cold.”
He also said he thinks Jama is a “great traitor”, adding: “I think she could win it.”
When asked about who he hopes will make it to the final, he said: “The ultimate finale would be Leigh-Anne, Jerry (Hall) and Romesh staring down Acaster.
“Three on one and they take his sorry ass to the cleaners.”
