Magic duo Penn and Teller to mark 50th anniversary with solo West End debut

Magic duo Penn and Teller will embark on their first West End run of shows to mark their 50th anniversary next year.

Since first performing together on August 19 1975, the American magicians have gone on to front sold–out runs on Broadway and to headline a Las Vegas residency.

To mark their latest milestone, the pair will take to the stage for an 11-date residency at The London Palladium from September 13 2025.

The duo were part of the line-up at a one-off event held at the London Palladium in 2018 to mark the King’s 70th birthday, but their upcoming run will mark their first solo run of shows at the West End venue.

They said: “Our 50th year of magic would not be complete without performing in the UK.

“We have never before played in the West End and we are very excited to celebrate our 50th Anniversary at London’s famous Palladium.

“If Madonna can do it, so can we.”

The anniversary tour will draw on their years of experience of magic and mayhem as well as showcasing new tricks.

The duo, consisting of Penn Jillette and Teller, began by busking on the streets of Philadelphia before they established themselves as some of the most known magicians in the world.

Their act sees Jillette guide the audience through the comedic and magical performance while Teller usually does not speak.

They have also fronted a number of shows including their competition series, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, where magicians attempt to impress them for a chance to star in the their hit Las Vegas stage show.

Over the years, they have made many appearances on shows such as The Simpsons, Friends, The West Wing, Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory.

Their TV specials have also garnered them an Emmy, a Writers Guild Award and their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Penn & Teller’s 50 Years Of Magic will be staged at The London Palladium from September 13 to September 24 2025, with tickets going on sale on Friday at 10am.
